Art has always been the common thread in my life. Whether it concerns designing a product, furnishing an interior or while painting; it remains a constant challenge to make something that is original and innovative, without compromising its individuality. Not always an easy task, because some colors are driven into each other and compete with each other.
After 20 years as a figurative sculptor in French white stone, I came across modern products through the industry. As a designer, I have brought my passion for the innovative to the international market through trade fairs from Paris to Amsterdam, and from London, Barcelona to Moscow.
The market for painting is different. Here I go my own way, which I walk step by step, where I want to show paintings that are newer and better. The longer you work, the easier it becomes to achieve what you want to achieve. Because the clearer it is to yourself, the more accessible it becomes for the neutral spectator to interpret everything as you intended.
My style of painting is closely related to sculpting. They are touches of paint, which are placed on the canvas subtly, then vigorously. I always paint with the knife, so I can hit it more powerfully. In this way, painting forms a challenge that is sometimes studied and other times comes off the wrist, but never misses the mark. For me it is an urge and instinct to deal with paint, canvas and panel in this way. It is the style that I aspire to: powerful and casual.
